Dry Material Preparation
Through innovation and continuous improvements Fives design the dry material preparation process, to meet all customers' expectations.
Using the Fives' designed Rhodax®4D crusher, the solution combines the crushing of the raw coke and recycled products to generate the required grain size distribution with an optimized and exceptionally stable recipe, such as high G/S ratio. A selective grinding effect occurs where the soft grains (porous or micro-cracked coke grains) are crushed to finer fraction while hard grains (from recycled anode butts) are preserved in the coarse fraction. The resulting anode quality shows a higher density and a high resistance to thermal shocks.

A simple and fully automatically controlled process
Featured with one or two TSV® dynamic classifiers and one variable speed ball mill or Horomill®, the whole process is entirely automated and controlled remotely, in order to operate continuously on line according to the downstream anode paste production requirements.
All parameters, speeds and adjustments are controlled in real time through Fives’ advanced control system, in order to maintain the best quality and stability of the final product.
