Fives’ teams have installed and commissioned the SMARTCrane technology on the last crane - a Miscellaneous Casting Machine (MCD), that was delivered to the Trimet smelter in St Jean de Maurienne, France. This brand new digital solution has been developed to enhance the operability and maintainability of Fives equipment.

The objective is to deploy this solution on all the tending machines in the smelter, as part of a partnership agreement between Fives and Trimet.

Thanks to SMARTCrane, users and Fives’s experts will be able to remotely access the status of the cranes by using a simple web browser. The user will have a real-time view of the synthetic graphs, as well as detailed information on demand. Thus, users will be able to anticipate their maintenance needs, share data between operational and maintenance teams, and most importantly, get remote support from Fives’ experts when needed.

Through the deployment of SMARTCrane, users will periodically benefit from the advice of Fives’ experts, who will be able to provide them with a full range of services. At the heart of the community of crane users, Fives’ experts will share best practices in equipment maintenance and operation to boost their productivity.

In addition to its know-how as an equipment manufacturer, with SMARTCrane, Fives provides users with an expertise in data processing in order to improve safety, reduce downtime and optimize operational costs.

SMARTCrane is an excellent way to enter the industry 4.0 era, by moving from a traditional reactive approach to a proactive maintenance service!
