Excellent achievements at the Boguchansky Aluminium smelter
Thanks to Fives’ dry scrubbing technology, total fluoride emissions are largely below 0,80 kg/t of aluminium produced.
Boguchansky Aluminium Smelter (BoAZ), a new plant of Russia’s aluminium giant RUSAL, implemented hot commissioning of its first production unit equipped with Fives’ gas treatment center in August 2015.
The construction of BoAZ, a part of the global project BEMO in Krasnoyarsk region of Russia, developed by UC Rusal, the world's second largest aluminium company, and RusHydro, Russia’s largest power-generating company, was planned in 2007 but had to be put on standby due to the world economic crisis. The project was resumed in 2011, with a target to launch the first production unit of 147,000 tons aluminum per year.
Fives Solios has developed and supplied a gas treatment center (GTC) for the first production unit, while Fives Vostok, Fives’ subsidiary in charge of projects localization in Russia and CIS, rendered supervision, installation, pre-commissioning and training services.
Fives’ dry scrubbing technology of electrolysis fumes could reduce up to 99.7% of pot room fugitive emissions.
