New contract with TRIMET
Between September and October, 2016, Fives ECL was awarded two contracts by Trimet for its St Jean de Maurienne aluminium smelter, in France.
The first one consists of the supply of two tapping and miscellaneous assemblies, a transfer gantry as well as retractable bumpers. The machines will be installed in line G of the AP30 potlines, where an extension is ongoing to add a transfer and maintenance hall. They will be manufactured in workshops located in Ronchin, prior to delivery and erection on site in 2017.
The second one consists of the retrofit of four Pot Tending Machines in line G, for complete electrical refit and some mechanical equipment replacement. On-site works will start in September, 2017, and they should take approx 1 year.
The objective of these investments is to improve global performance of reduction process through an increased stability of operations. Additional projects are still under discussion with Trimet as part of its global smelter modernization program.
