While the aluminium industry embraces the concept of digitization throughout the value chain, this year, the Fives’ training program, Back2School, is going digital and will be a virtual event.
Launched 5 years ago, Back2School aims at improving the technical and process knowledge of smelter’s operational and maintenance teams. It provides the right expertise of an OEM supplier to optimize plant operation.
In 2020, the Fives' training program will be sponsored by Emirates Global Aluminium and three online classroom training sessions will be organised in parallel:
- ECL Reduction Equipment - Electrical
- ECL Reduction Equipment - Mechanical
- Solios Equipment: Green Anode Plant Mechanical & Process, Gas Treatment Center and Firing & Control Systems
As the event is also a good opportunity for social interactions and networking, some inter-sessions virtual games and quiz will be organised along with a virtual welcome and closing ceremonies. Upon training completion, hardcopies Graduation Certificate and a souvenir-gift will be sent to all participants.
As a reminder, the 2019 edition of Back2School was hosted by Ma’aden Aluminium in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, gathering 85 people from 8 countries over 5 days to improve their knowledge and competences on process and equipment in a user-friendly and collaborative atmosphere.
In addition to sharing technical knowledge, this annual event gives participants the opportunity to get to know each other, to exchange and, above all, to share their experiences.
Today, Back2School is a benchmark in terms of technical training on primary aluminium production processes, and values Fives as an expert and a partner of its customers.
